Melissa Ewen is the founder and principal designer of Melissa Ewen Design. As the daughter of a military family, Melissa spent her childhood moving every few years—an experience that instilled in her the notion that home is a place we create.

Prior to leading her design firm, Melissa was an attorney who spent over a decade working as a consultant, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and organizational transformations. She developed a love of working with her clients, understanding their needs and collaborating to create something new together, which she brings into her design work today. In her previous career, Melissa traveled extensively, spending years working in Europe, which has inspired much of her design aesthetic.

During the global pandemic—with a new perspective and motivation to prioritize joy in her life—Melissa decided to follow her true calling in interior design. After studying at the Rhode Island School of Design and completing projects for friends and family, she opened Melissa Ewen Design.

Melissa and her husband Kurt recently moved with their two children to Sewickley, PA to be closer to her family. They love being in the Pittsburgh area and continue to prioritize joy in their lives.
